A round belly, a newborn who fits along one forearm, children who will not sit still: those weeks are not played again. I photograph them in Montreux, in the studio or outdoors on the Swiss Riviera, at the pace of the people in front of the camera — rarely the photographer's.
Each one calls for a different approach — and a different kind of patience.
A calm session, usually late in pregnancy. On your own, with the father, with older children. Most often in the studio, where the light is fully controlled.
Gentle images, no acrobatic posing. The baby leads: we stop for feeds, changes and tears, then carry on.
First smiles, first steps, the whole sibling group. In the studio or outdoors, where children can move without being told to keep still.
Usual markers. Nothing is fixed: every pregnancy and every child goes at its own pace.
This is when the bump is beautifully defined and tiredness is still bearable. Later, a session becomes demanding; earlier, the silhouette reads less. Book early in the third trimester, dates go quickly.
In the first days babies sleep a great deal and keep their curled position: that is what makes these images so particular. Beyond that, sessions remain possible, they simply tell a different story.
The age when they sit unaided but do not yet walk. They look at the lens, grab everything, burst out laughing: often the liveliest session of the first year.
The family photo always waits for the right moment, which never comes. Once a year is enough to build something that will matter a great deal later.
With children, everything comes down to one rule: never force anything.
Work from recent sessions.
Maternity and family sessions follow the studio and outdoor packages.
